Wilmington, N.C. — A newly-renovated A-frame style beach house has just hit the market at $5.5 million.
The beach house is located on Figure Eight Island, a private island north of Wrightsville Beach.
The four bedroom home, originally built in 1968, has a unique triangular design. The property, listed by Figure Eight Realty, is more than 3,000 square feet and has a dreamy view of the ocean.
Saturday’s listing price is around three and half times more expensive than what it was valued at two years ago (a meager $1.5 million). Zillow estimates this property is listed for around $2 million higher than its current market value.
Figure Eight Island is known by locals as an area where many movie stars own property. For example, Alec Baldwin, Kathy Bates, Robert Downey Jr., Andy Griffith, Barbra Streisand, and Paul Newman have all stayed on the island.
So the question is, who will buy this eclectic property, and will it be someone with a name that locals recognize?
