“American Idol” finalist, and recent Democratic congressional candidate, Clay Aiken has put his house on the market.

The 43-year-old Raleigh native is selling his three-bedroom home located off Creedmoor Road for $980,000.

The 4,277-square-foot home comes newly renovated with a two-car garage, three-and-a-half bathrooms, a pool and a basketball court, according to the listing.

Aiken shot to national fame in 2003 when he endeared himself to fans on the second season of “American Idol,” the reality singing competition. While he came in second place to Ruben Studdard, he has remained active in the entertainment industry, with a stint on Broadway and on the fifth season of “The Celebrity Apprentice,” where he came in second.

He has since moved into the political realm. He hosts a political podcast and has run for office twice. He ran in 2014 for North Carolina’s 2nd Congressional District, losing to Republican Renee Ellmers. The campaign was documented on the TV series “The Runner-Up.”

More recently, Aiken ran for North Carolina’s 4th Congressional District to replace retiring Congressman David Price. He came in third place in the Democratic primary, losing to N.C. Sen. Valerie Foushee.

The one-story single family home is listed as a private residence on Bartwood Drive in the Hunter Hill neighborhood of Raleigh. Some interior features are high cathedral ceilings, a fireplace, and an indoor grill.

The listing is found on popular real estate websites Zillow and Realtor.com. Zillow has estimated the home to be valued at about $1.1 million.

There are nine total rooms in the house, including two master bedrooms, a great room, an enclosed porch and a room over the garage.
