Miami residents protested outside their local government center saying that high rent prices will only make the city’s homelessness problem worse.

Commissioners taking up the issue today in its board meeting proposing a requirement to notify tenants of a rent increase that would mandate a 60 day written notice before a landlord increases rent by more than 5% when Elise ends or for a month to month tenants.
