Two Triangle cities ranked high in a recent study about the best large and mid-sized cities in the United States to move to for diversity, and a third made the Top 100 list.
▪ Cary ranked #10 for mid-size cities in the country, according to the Filterbuy report. Fayetteville (#62), Durham (#79), Greensboro (#98) and Winston-Salem (#101) were also featured on the mid-size cities list.
▪ Raleigh ranked #22 for large cities, according to the Filterbuy report. Charlotte was also featured on the large cities list, coming in at #34.
The top mid-size city in the country was Hayward, California, and the top large city was San Jose, California.
To make these determinations, researchers examined ethnic/racial diversity, birthplace diversity and economic equality.

Those looking to move to Cary, Raleigh and the other cities featured in this report will have to battle changing rent prices.

▪ Rent in zip code 27609, a Raleigh zip code that includes North Hills, has increased by nearly 30% in the past year. Median rent is $1784 as of May 2022.
▪ Rent in zip code 27615, a North Raleigh zip code that includes Lafayette Village, has decreased by nearly 9% in the past year. This is the only zip code on this map that has seen rent decrease over the last 12 months. Median rent is $1725 as of May 2022.
